Oct 8, 2012 The Multilingual Playgroup Picnic Report / 多言語子育てひろば ピクニック開催報告

On October 8, 2012, The Multilingual Playgroup Picnic was held along Kamogawa River, near Demachiyanagi Station.

Number of participants: approx. 70

Thank you for coming to Jafore Picnic! The weather was just perfect. It was sunny with light winds and warm enough for playing in the water. All ages and nationalities: from one month old babies to grandparents, from various countries, and locals and tourists, gathered for the picnic. While children ran around, played in the fountain, and blew bubbles, parents talked with new people, became friends and exchanged information. We were delighted that some parents were reunited at the picnic. After lunch time, we had a special guest who read two picture books, one in Japanese and the other in English. We all took great pleasure in listening to the stories. We enjoyed clapping our hands and stamping the ground to join the storyteller.

The next multilingual playgroup is on Mon. November 12, 2012 at Hokori Heart Demachi. 

10月8日、気持ちのよい天気のなか、鴨川のほとりでジャフォールピクニックを開催しました。1カ月の赤ちゃんからおばあちゃんまでの広い世代の方、また、挙げきれないほど多様な出身地の方が集まってくださり、のべ70人以上が集まるにぎやかなピクニックとなりました。
水辺で遊んだり、それぞれ持ってきたシャボン玉などで遊ぶ子供たちを見守りながら、初めて会う人同士でのおしゃべりが始まったり、久しぶりの再会を喜び合ったりする姿も見られました。

皆さんそれぞれ自由なスタイルでピクニックを楽しんでおられましたが、お昼すぎにはスペシャルゲストとしてお越しいただいたお父さんに、日本語と英語で絵本の読み聞かせをしていただきました。時折アドリブが入ったり、お話を聞いている子どもも大人もお話に参加するようになっていたりと、最後まで目が離せないひとときとなりました。

ジャフォールピクニックに参加して下さったみなさん、ありがとうございました。またみなさんに会えるのを楽しみにしています。
