Multilingual Playgroup Report (Sept. 10, 2012) / 9月10日多言語子育てひろばを開催しました

On September 10, 2012, Multilingual Playgroup was held at Hokkori Heart Demachi. 

30 people from Indonesia and Japan participated. Also, there was an American-Japanese family who is temporarily in Japan.

We start our program with singing the song "Hello to all the children of the world". If you learn to sing this song, you'll be able to say "Hello" in 9 languages.

We had a special guest this time, Dr. Nishi Makoto, who talked about "Childrearing in Ethiopia" in English and Japanese. We had a chance to see some curious pictures of Ethiopia and we all learned a lot. The estimated total fertility rate in 2011 in Ethiopia is 6! Raising children is no easy task for mothers in any society. However, it may be easier for Ethiopian mothers to raise several children while at the same time pursuing other life goals.　
Before story time, we learned how to count from one to ten in Chinese.

The picture book this time was "Frida" in Spanish. It was such a beautiful book with colorful pictures.

The next multilingual playgroup (Jafore picnic!) is on Monday, October 8, 2012 at the west bank of Kamogawa river Demachiyanagi. Please feel free to come and join us.

９月１０日、ほっこりはあと出町で「多言語子育てひろば」が開催されました。

参加者は３０名、インドネシア、日本、また海外にお住まいで一時帰国されている日本人の家族が集まりました。

はじまりは歌「Hello to all the Children of the World」をみんなで歌いました。この歌を覚えれば９ヶ国語のあいさつができますよ。

おしゃべりの時間には、エチオピアをフィールドに研究調査をする文化人類学者の西真如さんが「エチオピアでの子育て」について英語でお話されました。

現地の人々の生活や子育ての様子をスライドで紹介されました。
エチオピアの女性は平均６人の子どもを出産し、日本と違って子育てしながらも仕事を持つ女性が多いようです。その理由は隣人など地域の人々が一緒になって子どもをみてくれるからだそうです。参加者のみなさんからは多くの質問が出て、エチオピアの子育てに関心をもたれた方が多かったようでした。

絵本の時間の前には、中国語で１から１０まで数えました。

絵本の時間には「ＦＲＩＤＡ（フリーダ）」というメキシコの女性画家のお話をスペイン語で読みました。
個性的で色鮮やかなイラストが印象的でした。

次回のひろばは１０月８日（月・祝日）にピクニックをします。
場所は鴨川の河原です。時間は１０時３０分から。
